The Singareni Collieries Educational Society (SCES) was registered with the Registrar of the Societies, Hyderabad under the Andhra Pradesh (Telangana Areas) Public Societies Registration Act, 1350 Fasli (Act 1 of 1350 F) with Registration No.760 of 1984 in order to bring Singareni Collieries Women’s College and other educational Institutions under one umbrella as per A.P. Educational Rules.
The Singareni Collieries High Schools were established in the year 1975-76 to provide quality education for the children of Company employees as a welfare measure. Presently 09 Schools spread over in 05 Districts i.e., Bhadradri Kothagudem, Dr.Jayashankar Bhupalapalli, KomuramBheem Asifabad, Mancheriyal and Peddapalli are being administered by Singareni Collieries Educational Society (SCES) with the patronage of SCCL. Out of the 09 Schools, 05 Schools are partially admitted to Grant-in-Aid. The Teaching and Non-Teaching staff working in Schools are governed by A.P.Educational Rules applicable to (Aided) Govt. Schools/Recognized Schools.
A composite Women’s College was established in the year 1975 exclusively for the education of employee’s wards at Kothagudem and it was bifurcated as Degree & Post Graduate and Junior College in the year 1992. The Degree College was partially admitted to Grant-in-Aid in the year 1980. The Degree College is affiliated to Kakatiya University, Warangal. The College Teaching Staff are governed by University Grants Commission Rules and A.P. Education Rules applicable to Aided/Recognized Institutions in respect of service and Pay Scales etc. The Junior College is an un-aided Institution governed by APER & the directions of Board of Intermediate Education, Hyderabad from time to time. The Singareni Collieries Polytechnic at SRP Area (Mancherial District) was established in the year 2008 to impart Technical Education to the wards of SC Employees’ Children, which was governed by APER & directions from AICTE/SBTET from time to time.
Director (PA&W) is the President of SCES. All other Directors are Vice-Presidents of the Society. GM (Education) is the Secretary and GM (F&A) is the Treasurer of the Society.
As a policy, 67% Company Employees’ Children and 33% outsiders are allowed for admission in Singareni Collieries Schools. In fact, 85% are civilian children and rest are SCCL employees’ wards at present. 85% admissions are allowed for Company Employees Children and 15% for outsiders in Intermediate Courses at SCWJC based on merit following Rule of Reservation (ROR). In SCWDC admissions are provided through DOST as per rules of Kakatiya University based on merit followed by Rule of Reservation. The admission into Polytechnic is as per POLYCET rank and followed by Rule of Reservation for the branches of Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Computer and Mining with an intake of 60 each. 50% of the seats are earmarked to SCCL employees Children.
The educational Institutions under SCES are equipped with qualified teaching staff numbering 315 (including contract staff) and Non-Teaching staff numbering 184 (including contract staff) having sound infrastructural facilities like permanent structured buildings, hostel, library, laboratory, play ground for sports and games, transportation and security in order to meet the requirements of students strength numbering 6566 (2020-21).
All the necessary infrastructure will be provided by SCCL. All the Educational Institutions are maintained by SCCL.
